@sasha amazon
or in real life if that’s easier (just say it’s your gfs birthday if you’re boymoding)
@sasha in my country any age can have a debit card but it’s managed by your parents until you’re legally an adult
“but it’s manyaged by your parents”
this is why I specifically didn’t want to get a bank account until I was 18, to avoid any chance my parents would have some lingering control over it.
AFAIK here what happens with a teen bank account when you turn 18 entirely depends on the bank.
I know someone whose parents still have read-only access to their account after they turned 18 (and they are too anxious about parents getting mad at them to revoke it).
While for me I learned a childrens’ account I had in a different bank got transformed into a full adult account only because my parents accidentally sent money to it and it didn’t bounce.
When they called that bank the employee refused to even tell them whether the account exists. My parents were convinced they closed that account when I was in middle school.
I had to go there in person myself to learn that the account does in fact still exist and get set up with online access and such.
