as a journalist it is my job to inform people of relevant and important information. it is my job to spread information that can help make the world a better place. it is not just annoying that the submarine is getting more media attention it is immoral

the people who insult journalists are right, actually. we've earned those insults. we shouldn't be generally respected. because we'd rather report on a few rich people going missing in a submarine than over 500 people forced from their homes perishing because we weren't responsible enough as civilizations to save them. if we want respect we need to earn it.

๐ŸŒŸ @bryophyteish < i รพink journalism isnt inherently bad, in fact it is very important, but like. yeah. journalists as a whole have just lost all respect. just like, utterly sold out. which fucking sucks ๐ŸŒŸ

@Paradox yeah, like...i decided to pursue becoming a journalist because it is important. knowing is half the battle, as they say. but the type of journalism we're seeing today, especially with regards to these two tragedies, isn't at all what I signed up for.

@bryophyteish there were SO MANY warning signs. there were so many chances to pull out. in a just world the company would not have even been allowed to exist after what came out in 2018. however, these stupid ass rich "people" decided to seek the thrill, and a thrill they got. entirely fucking deserved, and i hope they had some time to really sit there and let the hopelessness sink in (lol sink, ironic)
