an alternate universe exists where Evil Winter is the leader of fediblock, and any who mildly criticize https://translunar.academy are tier 0 blocklisted for transmisogyny, ableism, and technophobia as I rake in tens of thousands of dollars through my patreon

@mia @winter you also gotta run a shitty unreadable website with copy-pasted block reasons from welshpixie’s blocklist that is completely unavigable (this is something he actually fundraised several thousand dollars to make)

@dangerdyke @mia @winter even worse, the fediblock cult are all convinced that are0h and welshpixie are like these poor underdogs because they don't have as much money as facebook and twitter ceos (that is what they seem to be comparing fedi admin stuff to) and i guess have no idea about all the trans women running servers and not even getting money for it, at least not enough to cover the cost of running the server in most cases

@mia @dangerdyke @winter yeah and it should make people question their motives

i know being an instance admin isn't easy and often sucks (though i am not and have never been one)

but i wonder how much of their motive for "creating safe and diverse spaces" is actually financial as opposed to wanting to build communities

given that they seem to think they deserve social media ceo paychecks

and i wonder how much of the fediblocking, at least of small instances that really aren't a threat, is actually related to them feeling threatened by the existence of people running instances for free when they are demanding money for it

as well as transmisogyny of course

but i'm starting to get kind of suspicious

@mia @dangerdyke @winter multiply that time to adjust for a person of his calibre, bill by the hour at what he must imagine himself to be (not just a tech specialist but an *advocate*, so $500+ plus reasonable disbursements), and yeah i can see how he could argue that it's fair

Dumb idea for a waste of money and time:

  • buy TheMediocre.space
  • spend an afternoon making a template for exploring the artful list of people who are most definately certifiably bad that actually doesnt make you want to poke your eyes out.
  • add an appeal box and allow server owners to explain why they aren’t actually nazis for interacting with someone a certain person doesn’t like.

Congratulations you achieved nothing and made an intro level web application….

What was I talking about?
