outward racism, bigotry, and transphobia is easy to catch and block. someone saying racist shit openly wants you to know they are racist. transphobes that are comfortable getting into trans women's profiles and harassing them want you to know they dont like you.

what's worse, however, are the people that don't want you to know they are terrible bigots. they will support you on the surface while attacking you as subtly as they can get away with. with TBS and its supporters, it is clear what they are trying to do. when people, like welshpixie, attack a trans person, on the false presumption they are racist, it is directly to cause harm to trans people. im not even gonna try to unpack the implications of a knee-jerk reaction assuming 7 asterisks in a row is a racial slur, someone else can do that lmao.

these are the kind of liberals that are so incredibly frustrating. they appear to be progressive, and against bigotry, but hidden inside of them is the exact same thing they claim to hate.

there are a bunch of trans women pissed off at a particular cis person who happens to be Black, and transmisogynist, who has spread lies about us for far too long, and even put us in danger by making fucking lists cataloguing us, then calls us “anonymous cowards” for protecting our identities online while we are being put in a spotlight in the midst of the mounting state repression against us, who thinks the word girlcock is “unfortunate,” who is clearly uncomfortable with queer sexuality being visibly expressed, that is the kind of person who is pushing this line that this issue is about racist trans women

literally nobody has ever said trans women cannot be racist, yet the hypothetical notion that we did has become an impenetrable shield against all criticism. of course white trans women can be racist, we’re white. we aren’t unique among white people, so why single out the trans women when calling out racism? if we singled out Black people when talking about the broad systemic issue of transmisogyny, that would obviously be racist. we aren’t doing that, we are expressing our frustration at one single person who has repeatedly attacked trans women.
