Social media and even blogging platforms I’ve found put so little emphasis on your archive of posts. It bewilders me and is a major source of my frustration with these platforms. If I’m making so many posts over time and some where there’s actual effort behind it it should at the least be a priority to have options available to make navigating older posts easier. The lack thereof is discouraging to making posts with effort. Why should I spend time making a good post with substance when it’s going to end up somewhere down in my profile only to ever be found if someone scrolls deeper than the vast majority will care to or happens to stumble across it? There was one point where I figured that I was just looking for the wrong features in the wrong place - social media wasn’t built for that. But even things like Wordpress don’t have good solutions to this without a decent bit of plugins and messing around. At best, one of my posts was published right now. The rest were made in the past. So why do the vast majority of my posts seemingly not matter in navigability?

The one day I managed to sleep a few hours earlier my dog just had to wake me up by loudly barking huh…

It would be nice to set up a micro.blog and just have everywhere else link back to there but man I do not like any of the themes

@rachie I don’t know if it’s a size thing at this point, I had already refunded one set of well recommended third party ear tips and I think this set had the smallest size (“SSS” ) I could find as well as two more pairs of also small but slightly bigger eartips, it seems to happen no matter what >.<. idk if the iem’s ear stem thing is longer than normal or not.

I got IEMs early this year and I was enjoying them quite a bit. I’ve avoided them for a long time because they always hurt my ears but I got some nice third party eartips this time and it was relatively painless. A few months in though it started kind of hurting my ear to put it in in the right ear. I tried my third party tips and the stock tips but whenever I put them in it makes a painful sound. Not the earbud, like, the ear tip. I’ve checked and it doesn’t seem to be wax in my ear. I can get it in the first time and deal with the sound but whenever I adjust it to seal properly as it comes undone or just little movements, I can’t deal with that. I guess I’m not meant for IEMs.

@gon i do listen to music a good bit but not really as a form of consuming media. sitting and just listening to music doesn’t really do it for me, for whatever reason. though maybe that’s something i could explore. i’ve had difficulty finding new music i like within my current bounds as well.

idk if it’s just me, this instance, or akkoma, but the timeline seems to being kinda weird. i’ve seen the same post show up multiple time in a short time span and not because of boosts. i think it might be because of edits, it seems like an edited posts gets posted as a new post and the old one stays in the timeline. all but the newest one seems to mostly disappear on refresh. i hadn’t seen it happen since maybe yesterday or a few days ago so i’m not sure if this is just a known thing and i missed it or if its new. #akkoma @m

as i’ve run out of things that catch my interest in the gaming and show-anime-movie sphere i’ve decided to start to try more stuff out of my range. older stuff, more niche stuff, ive always been interested in more cinephile-kinda stuff too but havent gotten much into it. it’s also made me realize (again) that my media taste hasn’t really evolved or changed in a long time, especially compared to most people i know. i definitely wanna try broadening my horizons soon.

Grabbed a spare blue sky invite that was posted in a Discord server I’m in. Seems pretty barebones, and pretty Twitter. I can maybe see myself using this like I used to use Twitter - as in just following people and checking it sometimes, but the character cap of 300 makes really using the platform a non-starter, not to mention the various other things that would be stopping me. Maybe someone will make a crossposter for from fedi to blue sky and I could set that up.

well, these designs are even more boring than i expected. this has significantly less variety than even the first two generations. two characters sharing one channel is an interesting idea but otherwise, eh. wellll, not like i was gonna watch anyway lol. ah well.
