ever notice how the same people who complain about federation being confusing all use email? like… if i ask you what email provider you use, you can answer. you chose an email provider. maybe you didn’t compare any other ones, but you still chose one. but now that we’re asking you to choose a fedi instance, now that’s too much. they’d much rather have centralized services that suck them dry than join fedi!

a thought one of us had yesterday
with bhyve dragonfly is a very competent vm host
one of the developers also painstakingly ported the linux amd gpu drivers over, and finished this process basically last release, meaning im doing great on the drivers front now
my desktop has more than sufficient amounts of ram
what if i ran a properly thought out windows or even linux vm with steam in big picture mode to play games, but actually used dragonflybsd as the host
oh also this thought came while figuring out window managers, due to the sheer lack of availability im gonna make the regrettable decision of just... not using wayland for the moment and instead using 2bwm on xorg, surely editing or patching the config.h should be possible if ur compiling from dports

just almost had a heart attack,
heard some weird noises and closed the door in response, only to later discover that the source of these noises was in fact a very large grasshopper that somehow got up to my balcony and before i had closed the door, came inside my room
except uh, while i was taking pictures of it... it decided it didnt like that wall so much and just flew the fuck away, past me and across the room, nearly causing my heart to cease
turns out this may in fact not be a grasshopper, which should have been clear when i got a closer look at the legs but it really wasnt, first time i saw a critter this big and it wasnt one
cricket maybe? hasnt made any cricket noises so far but theres a lot of them outside at the moment

Calckey (and probably the other *keys) does not support the cc field.
It does not extract the data from the cc fields that are sent by my client.
Akkoma does, Pleroma does, and I'm pretty sure that Mastodon does as well.
As far as I'm aware, it's mandated by the spec that the cc field must be respected.
Why doesn't Calckey get mentions from the cc field? It's been messing up threads that I'm a part of.
