- Make a course that's supposed to show people how to get rich. They will pay for it, realize they have been scammed, and you get to keep the money!
- Make a fake cryptocurrency, and then when you're happy with the amount of money, run off with it.
And now you can afford to buy your expensive car, and 4 story house with a swimming pool in the backyard, like you've always wanted. This will help to make you seem more authentic, and like you know what you're talking about. But really, you're just telling people a load of BS.

I think for really long posts, I'm gonna use unlocked because I feel like shorter posts on local timeline is better. I'll use public for short ones and unlocked for long ones perhaps? Wondering what everyone else does, lol
Also for questions like this, it's probably good to use unlocked, unless it's a question I'd want everyone to answer. Except if other people came across this post, I wouldn't mind it. Just doesn't need to be on the local timeline.

For example, I recently read about a news article relating to Alzheimer's, and how scientists have discovered how brain cells die. This wouldn't be possible if there was no data shared with those people about Alzheimer's.
The bad kind of data sharing is, data that no one else needs to know about, such as in this article https://mullvad.net/en/why-privacy-matters/data-brokers, it is mentioned how data brokers are tracking peoples location, and where they go in their lives, and that you can purchase this data. It is not private.
And if you'd argue that tracking locations can help GPS such as Google Maps, I would say that from reading, satellite imagery is used as well as user submitted data (such as images in reviews, I guess). Peoples location doesn't need to be known by anyone but themselves.
Also with abortion being illegal in some states in America, I would be cautious and there's probably ways of hiding your data for that, I would imagine.

I promise you, fighting for accessibility isn't elitism.
You know how long I've been fighting as a developer to get people to consider accessibility at all in their web design and content creation decisions? And now I come over to Mastodon and I see folks bringing up the idea that you absolutely should be putting alt text for your uploaded images and videos, and there's pushback against it. It's elitist or pretentious or sends the wrong message about the Fediverse.
Buddy, the elites think anyone who isn't perfectly able-bodied and exploitable as a cog in the capitalist machine is expendable.
Considering those with disabilities and making that an important part of what we're doing different this time as a social media platform isn't just acceptable, it's fucking beautiful.
We should strive to have that passion for the underrepresented in our society in all the things we repeat obnoxiously.
Be annoying in your pursuit of a better world!
