If you ever think to yourself, I want to chat with that person, but I don't want to bother them.
STOP, go send them a dm, they may also want to chat with you, but feel too anxious to send a dm.
In the worst case scenario they will just ignore you, it's fine.
Please do dm people
Greetings everyone!
Name's Void_Setup, but feel free to call me whatever. I'm just another #tinkerer open to learning new things while building upon what I already know. :P
My main knacks include recent fascinations with #eeg tech [#neuroprosthetics] and #hardwarehacking, #raspberrypi tinkering, and recycling/modifying old hardware with miscellaneous parts I find [which I might have dumpster dove for]. Example: (WIP) Turning an old laptop display into a desktop monitor (shoutout to #DIYPerks)! Plus, MASSIVE #LINUX NERD!! My fav. distro is #voidlinux!
I also dabble in #programming with #python, #C, and #cplusplus, but I might give #Rust a go once I've become fluent in both python and #micropython. I also dabble in #FreeCAD, #Blender, and #digitalart too, but I need more practice before I can model/sketch my ideas.
Finally, my main project? BUILDING A #PROTOGEN SUIT WITH A PI 5 THAT RIVALS IRON MAN HIMSELF. I WILL FIND A WAY_
Anyways, that's enough from me for now. Peace!
Sincerely,
=[|87
If you have a Windows10 device, seriously take good care of it because 11 really is that bad. Not all settings menus, the expandable and collapse sections, work with the keyboard on the first try. Menu bars don't even work unless you interact with it a certain way. For instance, in the file explorer file menu thing, escape key doesn't always bring me back to my list of files in the folder. The file menu in notepad only works if I press down arrow to open it, not up arrow. Find and replace in notepad doesn't have labeled find and replace edit fields. I can go on and on and on, especially with settings and controls, but I'll end with Notepad can't even remember my word wrapping preferences in 11. If any #Linux distro was usable by your average non-tech blind person, I'd never go back to Windows because I bet you it's only gonna get worse from here. Sadly, no #Linux distro is accessible to a non-tech blind person. I seriously thought about risking this fabulous ACER hardware and downgrading to 10, because that's how bad 11 is. The only, only, distro I found that mentions accessibility in a non tech way is KDE. https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/accessibility #Windows #Microsoft
TIL: You can totally set emojis as passwords on Linux.
I just love that.
Just imagine the possibilities:
"Sorry, your password could not be set. If you decide to include more than one animal, make sure they get along or include a zookeeper as well."
So I will meet some people who swear by digital privacy; uses mostly foss, linux, avoids mainstream social media, maybe even uses a secure email provider.. and then they use Discord
I know it’s probably because their friends won’t use anything else and I’m not shaming people for it ofc. It’s just kinda funny to me
#introduction (thought I'd redo this and expand it some)
Hai, I'm Rainy. I'm 17 and love computers, music, games, learning, sleeping, #programming and #linux and other #foss .
I'm in my last year of high school (praise be to god) and am planning to get a career in computer science or IT.
My fav programming language is #rust and I love Linux distros like #arch, #debian (the 2 I currently use on my laptop and desktop respectively), Mint, EndeavourOS, and more. I also enjoy strategy games a lot (have been slightly addicted to hoi4 recently)
Feel free to message me here or anywhere I have linked. You can find more general info about me as well as contact info on my website below.

Time for already overdue #introduction.
I am Artur aka Agnieszka, born in ‘70s, non binary, gender fluid person from #Poland, currently living in #Nederland #NoordBrabant. IT professional for almost 30 years - first as a sysadmin/netadmin in the ancient nineties/early 2000s, then a software engineer focused on #Linux. Posting silly memes (some of them made by myself), thoughts about psychology and therapy (majority will be in Polish, sorry), some ramblings and vents about technical subjects and being annoyed by the quality (or rather lack of it) of software and hardware. At the moment of writing this toot neophyte in home automatisation (#RaspberryPi #HomeAssistant), enjoying it and being annoyed by it at the same time. Also, recovering from burnout.
