introducing microwave golf. it's like code golf, but for the minimum number of button presses to get you the desired time. an example:
i want to cook for a minute thirty (1:30). easy answer, [1], [3], [0], [start]. boring. 4 button presses. okay. take advantage of the fact that the microwave lets you overflow seconds. [9] [0] [start]. 3 button presses. that's better. but the microwave has quick start features for buttons 1-6. can we get it down further? yes! hit [1], wait for it to trigger quick start mode and start cooking for one minute, then hit [start] which is also labelled "add thirty seconds". done. 2 button presses.
