THE ONLY CC LICENSE THAT IS COMPATIBLE WITH CODE IS CC0, USING ANY OTHER CC LICENSE FOR CODE IS A BAD IDEA. STOP. FUCKING. DOING. IT.
@soatok Okay I know I've got uBlock Origin running in Android Firefox, but aside that a chuckle and +respect for this.
Yascorp will hire a third-party investigator to determine whether or not the Orphan Crusher Max at our central administration building actually was used to crush orphans. We are shocked and dismayed that such a thing could happen at Yascorp.
It looks like google is manipulating the entered search queries to make them more profitable for google.
"Say you search for “children’s clothing.” Google converts it, without your knowledge, to a search for “NIKOLAI-brand kidswear,” making a behind-the-scenes substitution of your actual query with a different query that just happens to generate more money for the company, and will generate results you weren’t searching for at all. It’s not possible for you to opt out of the substitution."

i've never had to make this kind of post before, and i hate to do so, but it's kinda my last resort.
the lease on this apartment is up tomorrow, and we haven't been able to get a new place lined up, so my roommate and i are going to have to post up in a hotel for a little while. we need to be able to stay for at least a month, but it's going to be impossible without some assistance, and i've exhausted every other available option.
even the cheapest hotels around here start at about $60/night. so, please, if you're able, toss a few dollars our way and help keep us afloat. we would be ever so grateful.
thank you.
[straight person voice] is he, you know… [mimes planting a flag on a beach] european?
This is against Secure Boot Policy. System has been halted.
I get that you're excited to load an operating system, but you gotta sign the binary. And this isn't it. You're not on BIOS. We're building a protected and secure firmware here. This kind of bootloader isn't the vibe we want.
We fundamentally need a new type of option: the ability to grant software privileges that are completely phony. I need to be able to *pretend* to grant an app the ability to send me notifications, but then to have all those notifications sent into the void. Untrustworthy software should not be able to know what privileges I have granted it.
Discord being down is a good time to remind everyone that information should be in forums or wikis, not channels on Discord servers that can't be searched easily, aren't indexed by web search engines, require you to join a chatroom, and can disappear at any time because server can just be deleted.
Bring back websites and forums, stop putting all the content on the internet inside walled gardens controlled by big tech companies
Edit: my post said "information" and is about finding answers to questions, requesting help, finding info and tutorials and other informational content. It's not about saying that your chat with your friends should be made public, why am I getting so many bad faith replies lol. Forums are an objectively better way for people to find those kinds of things and for info to be available to anyone who searches for it.
