why isn't middle mouse button to scroll a thing on linux?
literally the best part of windows

@jesse pressing the middle mouse button doesn't activate scrolling on anything linux I use. It's always paste for some damn reason.

you can enable it on firefox but I want it everywhere

@i_lost_my_bagel @jesse yeah ctrl+c/ctrl+v was historically used for something else in unix so linux GUIs use mouse select and middle click for it instead.

honestly i feel the opposite way you do, wish i had this in windows

@IoIxD @jesse @i_lost_my_bagel For the sake of the argument, it could make sense to have both - scrolling in large areas like the web browser's or file manager's and pasting in text fields; though that idea breaks up for a terminal window.

they just choose not to.
