@IoIxD some online stores do technically have limited copies of digital games, but I doubt Nintendo would do this

@theking @IoIxD Nintendo would be the EXACT company to do it! Nintendo has never stopped treating games as toys. They do limited runs of things because their head is in the Cabbage Patch Kids/Beanie Babies/name the latest Hot New Toy™ mindset. Scarcity is their way of generating interest and they already have pulled games from digital sale that were only there for a limited time. https://www.polygon.com/2020/12/17/22180318/nintendo-removing-mario-games-35-anniversary

@mondanzo

i'm guessing it has to do with DRM. something like X keys are generated at launch, and they just ran out before new codes could be generated

@mondanzo @IoIxD They had a bunch of them ready and they used ‘cut & paste’ in place of ‘copy & paste’, obviously. 🙄

@IoIxD How do you sell out digital copies? What, you ran out of bits?

Bullshit is what that is.
