here i go reading through the steam-on-linux issue about supporting hid-nintendo drivers directly, i definitely wont come out of this more looking like a cartoon character eating chili
like not even the firejail or udev rule workarounds work for me, in that case it just doesnt connect at all
the fact daniel ogorchok, the main guy behind hid-nintendo just sorta vanished after it was finally mainlined does not help
you are not going to believe this but there is still absolutely no communication from valve on this issue even though its been present for like well over a year by now

im genuinely so upset i have the controller i have, why is steam nintendo-phobic
maybe i should look into getting a dualsense after all, more willing to compromise on longevity if it means at least having drivers that work with the feature i want
the only thing more upsetting than this is, im looking at a reddit post on r/archlinux, not even 2 weeks old, only one reply telling them to install joycond
joycond is like barely holding on, im not entirely sure why but it hardly worked and completely messed up the dpad last i tested around january, it has not seen a single github commit since last summer, so its unlikely it just suddenly works again now
wanna know what the response to reporting back that it didnt work was? not trying to help out and maybe finally sort this shit out and write new instructions that still work, no, they just downvoted them
