@OrangeCatCatBoys ah, the only true plane game I have played is project wingman
@OrangeCatCatBoys @theking War Thunder’s radar system is notoriously shit, expect stuff like that.
@OrangeCatCatBoys I tried ace combat, but the support for flight sticks was so bad, I refunded it
@OrangeCatCatBoys @theking yeah unless you were beaming there’s no way that MiG-29 should’ve held that lock unless it was right up next to you.
My guess is, if the 29 has a Fox 3, it was released pitbulled and tracked you instantly. Either way your RWR should’ve informed you of the MiG-29 looking at you.
@theking @OrangeCatCatBoys your first problem was assuming Ace Combat was designed for flight sticks.
It is objectively the worst way to play the game. It is designed for gamepads and gamepads only, keyboard is doable though with HEAVY reconfiguration.
Anyways Nuclear Option looks neat.
@theking @OrangeCatCatBoys (ps. if you want me to get into why flight sticks suck for Ace Combat-likes just ask)
@OrangeCatCatBoys @theking bruh.
okay yeah that just doesn’t make sense. Like in theory that setup makes sense, turn off radar, pitbull a Fox 3 at close range, but as soon as that missile comes off the rail it’s gonna keep it’s seeker right on you.
That RWR should’ve started screaming bloody murder.
@OrangeCatCatBoys @theking depending on the missile notching alone won’t be enough. Like this is WT so yeah that should’ve worked.
Modern countermeasures rely on dropping chaff then hitting that chaff with a jammer to do a screwy with the hostile radar system and drop your position, this is because chaff alone fucking sucks nowadays and does nothing
@OrangeCatCatBoys @theking oh yeah the F-15E for DCS is really fucking scary. It just never drops the lock unless you fly exactly right, and this is the F-15E with a mechanically scanned radar, full AESA would be downright code brown moment.
@OrangeCatCatBoys @theking This is against ROE. You’ve been locked on.
I get that you’re excited to be here, but you gotta follow the rules. And this isn’t it. You’re not playing War Thunder. We’re building a modern and threatening battlespace. This kind of Flanker isn’t the vibe we want.
