my situation just got a lot more difficult (serverbox's hard drive is not shown in the list of valid boot devices, the dragonfly install cant find its own root file system)

@coolbean as long as you have enough ram for the image in /tmp, and a USB port, you'll be ok

@coolbean i meant on serverbox, so you can copy an image to usb and do booting on the 3rd comp

@ellenor2000 yea but it doesnt boot either, hard drives done for, i cant

flash drive is unbootable due to being the wrong fucking file

haiku is unbootable due to black magic fuckery

serverbox is unbootable due to dead hard drive

@coolbean how does it have working dd & fetch then? (you can use those, and a tmpfs, to download correct file)

@ellenor2000 it doesnt, it would have working dd and fetch if it was able to boot but as it turns out it cant

@ellenor2000 no, when listing valid boot devices in the manual root selection thing the hard drive doesnt even show up, it is actually just gone
