dear all mobile apps that have their own built in share sheet that requires an extra tap to get into the normal system share sheet: stop existing forever

@nano dear mobile apps who have their own image pickers instead of using the system ones: have a very bad day (this also applies to win/mac software that doesnt use the system file picker)

@nano Honestly yeah. It's stupid. The only one that gets a pass in my book is Firefox, but it's annoying on pretty much every other app

@hreflex @nano firefox is okay bc they have firefox sync so it does give you the option to send a tab to a different device

@lexd0g @hreflex hot take but i don't consider that sharing and it should probably be a different button

@nano they will if developers adopt Android 14's new share sheet API

The claimed primary reason is due to in-app functions becoming more tedious otherwise. Social medias have the quick send to your last messaged person function, Google photos: the contact row, browser's extra functions like syncing, etc.

@nano same with websites/web apps that use their own share sheet instead of navigator.share() (which calls the system's share sheet)
