the original xbox's "permanent softmod" trick is really silly
if a disc's in the drive when the console turns on, the kernel automatically starts from there, so the softmod (an exploit in the dashboard) doesn't get loaded and you dont get your display patches or in-game reset or whatever
however, if the console's date/time settings are incorrect, the kernel will always boot up the dashboard to set them, before loading into the game disc. so what did people do to get a "permanent softmod"? corrupt the clock settings in the eeprom!!

- keep things legal. this includes pirated content, since we want to keep a good relationship across fediverse servers. posting CSAM is strictly forbidden and will result in legal action.
moderation policies
the sanctions for local users will be relative to the gravity of their infringements, varying from simply deleting the offending material, to warning the user through a three-strike system, to immediately banning the offending user.
