@anova @stopmakingthatbigface I'm not even a dev and I am both impressed and VERY concerned by that statement.

Because the absolute spaghetti an old app's code must be is both flabbergasting and something to be in awe of (if for no other reason than that it can ACTUALLY keep the app running and not self-immolate).

@nanianmichaels @stopmakingthatbigface This was specifically with respect to Microsoft products, which doesn't surprise me one bit.

It is genuinely beautiful how much people are willing to fuck around so long as it works. Nobody has ever paid me enough to write maintainable code, as far as I'm concerned.
