Stop using shitty chrome forks, switch to something else instead, like Firefox

@me i wish it was that easy

unfortunately firefox still struggles with performance compared to other modern browsers and consumes more battery life on laptops. i would love to switch to epiphany but webextensions support is not finished yet so everyday tools i use like bitwarden or ublock origin are not available at all. it's a shame but i'll have to stick with chromium until there's truly an alternative which can compete

@m Firefox can, it even works better than anything chromium-based to block ads.
As for the battery, disabling the background updater should do it.

@me no linux distro ever ships a build of firefox with the updater enabled by default. it really is a power efficiency issue in gecko

Try out some of forks, like Waterfox or LibreWolf
Or if you want to make it more chromium-ish try out Floorp
