looking though product recalls is actually terrifying. obviously most of it doesn't affect me (i'm not a baby) but jesus knowing that my things could be genuinly dangerous without me knowing. i could have missed a recall. or the defect just hasn't been noticed by enough people yet. and i just wouldn't know.
seeing things like "this entire series of gas stoves emits fatal amounts of carbon monoxide, stop using *immediatly*. if you've sold this products contact us NOW so we can track down who you sold it to" is. just.
or when they casually drop in the number of babies that a product has killed. and it's not some random off brand thing but something produced by a "respectable" company.
like am i really safe?
