So it’s been about eight months since Mastodon.lol went down and… If you go visit the place, it’s still up. It still has that stupid gif on it. Nathan has willingly kept the site up… Just for that one gif? I’m sure it’s probably not a bandwidth hog, but that is quite a level of petty.

TLDR Nathan overextended himself and then couldn't handle the pressure, blew up at his users/ a lot of people from other servers, and called off the whole thing, due to Wizard Game discourse.

- keep things legal. this includes pirated content, since we want to keep a good relationship across fediverse servers. posting CSAM is strictly forbidden and will result in legal action.
moderation policies
the sanctions for local users will be relative to the gravity of their infringements, varying from simply deleting the offending material, to warning the user through a three-strike system, to immediately banning the offending user.
