So like
I've never been to a punk show in my life.
The tickets for the show this weekend are cheap, I'm supporting local artists, but I feel like I'm starting at the deep end because the address on the flyer is 'ask a punk,' so. I dunno if this is gonna be right for me

Doesn't help that when I did ask a punk, the address was just. Some house in the suburbs. Which is understandable because there's fuck all else if you want a real underground venue on the cheap. But still

@ghost_bird @throatmuppet if you know the general area you should be able to find it from seeing people heading over there. You'll also be able to hear it once close too, lol

House shows are hella fun!

@throatmuppet I have no direct experience but I’ve been in squatted activist spaces with a similar vibe. Hope you can find a punk to tell you the address :-)

@throatmuppet I didn’t, but there was a wave of squatted activist social spaces here in the early 2010s. I used to go down when I could, bring food and stuff, hang out, attend talks and listen in on the consensus meetings. Plus I got to explore some empty buildings right in the city centre. I was a wannabe really, but I still learned a lot

@ghost_bird call yourself a wannabe if you want, that's still more time in squats than I've ever spent
