Hmm, I hire a lot of people and I'm trying to figure out how I feel about this.

My first thought is this isn't really cheating.

My second thought is, what does this say about their ethics.

My third thought is how do I use this persons ingenuity to my advantage without falling subject to their potentially questionable ethics.

It shows positively more than it shows negatively.

Its kinda like how when I specifically say do not contact us about your application, but then someone shows up to drop off a paper copy of their resume in the office.

Is super professional, well dressed, and personable. Then my manager says "hey I really liked this person. We had a great chat". I'm like okay, let move forward but I'll throw in a couple extra things to test their ability to follow directions.

I'm saying this not to make anyone happy. I'm just giving you some insight into how I personally think as the leader/owner of a medium size business.

That too, I use testing software. Anyone who applies is prompted to take a 3 different aptitude tests. Takes about 30 minutes.

We filter from there and then read resumes and cover letters.

I think resumes are pretty worthless ways of finding people.
