Lastnames on Fedi are combining the URL together, or just dropping the TLD
eg:
Kuriko Wetdry
Julia Eepymoe
@lina You’ve changed your name now, you’d be Lina Gayestdev
@lina@the.gayest.dev @yassie_j may have changed but haven’t moved on yet :3
@yassie_j hmmm
- posted by Seraphine@yassie_j im not sure how it would work with ck.catwithaclari.net
- posted by Seraphine@Transbian_Arsonists @yassie_j iceshrimp doesn’t see the subdomain
@oli @Transbian_Arsonists @yassie_j shes on just catwithaclari.net, ck. is a separate instance
@lunahd @yassie_j @Transbian_Arsonists oh i see
@yassie_j Yassie J "jassie" labirinthzone that does not "drop" ie not include the top level domain . not including the top level domain (and also stripping the beginning at (U+0064
) , replacing the second at (U+0064
) with a space (U+0020
) and using the webfinger resource not the URL) would be "Yassie_j labyrinth.".
@yassie_j@labyrinth.zone Sigma Comfy. Yeah, sounds about right.
@yassie_j @oli @lunahd ck.catwithaclari.net belongs to luna, and the one im on belongs tochloe
- posted by Seraphine@yassie_j @Transbian_Arsonists @oli
catwithaclari.net is @Chloe s sharkey instance
ck.catwithaclari.net is @ielenia s cutiekey instance
@Transbian_Arsonists @Chloe @yassie_j @ielenia @oli oh nevermind that then
@lunahd @Chloe @Transbian_Arsonists @ielenia @oli Cutiekey???
@yassie_j this implies that the same user has different surnames depending on the instance. a lastname concept where the last name used depends on context that frequently changes situationally - thats a pretty interesting idea!
@yassie_j This naming convention would make me “Hypnotic Transfeminine Art,” which would be a very fun coincidence except I chose the name deliberately for that reason.
@yassie_j @lunahd @Chloe @Transbian_Arsonists @oli a former sharkey fork
after…. stuff it’s not necessary anymore so I just run a dev version of sharkey
@yassie_j but that includes the tld
- posted by Seraphine@Transbian_Arsonists @yassie_j its part of the word thats fine i think
@yassie_j this sort of forgets to mention the underlying fact that most fedi users have accounts on multiple instances. thats the thing im trying to bring up. everyone has multiple last names and which one they use is a signifier of the social circumstance and might imply a specific social circle being interacted with or a specific way of interacting
@yassie_j ah yes, MagicLike "Mike" Sekundenklebertransportverbot
@yassie_j JeremyStarTM Fly StarOpenSource
interesting
@yassie_j (Sparkles) so I am honoured as Sparkles the Gayest
