@AppleAmps in the post iraq post cool britannia world it was pretty normal for somewhat left wing middle class brit families to basically raise their kids on an exclusively british media diet and go out of their way to not let them engage with american cultural products so i had no clue what thanksgiving was when i saw it. I once put maple syrup on bacon as a kid and said i'd heard americans liked it, so my mum started yelling at me about how they also killed a million people in iraq and more in vietnam and were torturing people in guantanamo bay and abu ghraib and i would grow up to get addicted to mcdonalds and be really fat and support george bush

- keep things legal. this includes pirated content, since we want to keep a good relationship across fediverse servers. posting CSAM is strictly forbidden and will result in legal action.
moderation policies
the sanctions for local users will be relative to the gravity of their infringements, varying from simply deleting the offending material, to warning the user through a three-strike system, to immediately banning the offending user.
