@sleepybisexual Artix is like Arch, but without systemd.

Arch is Arch, epic due to the amount of packages available in it's repos as long as one of the biggest communities what's maintaing packages

@gameplayervent isn't arch a diy distro, for a live USB not sure his having to setup every time helps

@sleepybisexual it's like a software what's being executed after the Linux kernel loads

@sleepybisexual I mean, your choice. KDE Plasma works better with systemd tho

@sleepybisexual I see Arch mentioned in the thread; I don't have experience with Artix, so I can't speak on that, but for a live USB I've had good experiences with EndeavourOS as an Arch-based distro; it's my daily driver (though tbf I don't have desktop usage experience with many distros besides it, besides Rocky but that feels insane to suggest considering what it is and you already have Fedora on there)

@sleepybisexual ...I realize even for how little experience I have with Linux as a whole I realize I just like the Arch based ecosystem more than anything else I've tried so far

back on topic I don't know much about Alpine Linux but I wonder if that's something to have on there

@sleepybisexual gentoo install ISO in case you ever need that, same with the Arch one, also grab yourself a NixOS one (ideally one that you've configured a little for your own needs, but that's up to you). If it's not on there, try to get something with memtest86+ or something so you can memtest a device when in a pickle (this does not work reliable in Linux userspace).

@benaryorg ibsee the point to all those. Is there any reason to have them if I can't have ant persistence? That said I'd like to learn gentoo and arch
