@natty @daviddd no, but not everyone knew that. Plus as recently as 2020 there really wasn’t a comparable EV for the price

@phoenix_fairy @daviddd I dunno, they always felt like overpriced toy cars than something I need to get from A to B, so it kinda left me cold

I see two lasting uses for cars, movement of a medium amount of cargo, or getting me to isolated places

@phoenix_fairy key the newer ones (but that would assume you're into cars so you know what they are, I guess) :3

@daviddd @natty where I live a car is necessary for survival (everywhere just about is isolated. I have to fucking drive an hour to get to the closest metro station even) which fucking sucks :( garbage/no transit and barely even any fucking sidewalks.

Like sure whatever car would work. Just the sad reality that a car of some kind is needed in this area.

They are decent cars though and a lot of fun to drive.

@natty @phoenix_fairy yeah! Depends how far you're going
Don't need a car for lots of places, but some might be quicker than a train or bus depends on where it is
Also depends on location too! For me, the bus stop is outside my house, and the train station is a 10-15 min walk

@natty @daviddd @phoenix_fairy no, but he wasn't nearly as open about his asshole-ness and incompetence, so he seemed as just some quirky billionaire running successful companies.

(it is now apparent that his companies are successful *despite* Musk, not because of him)
