speaking about art… i would love to post more photos but i have not enough energy for actually good alt text…
and i think good alt text is important for lots of types of disabilities. in best case the alt text is so good that everyone who looks at the picture takes time to read it.

thinking about art in general… most of my art doesn’t stay for long. some of it isn’t even something that can really be preserved. some will never be seen by more than a few creatures.
and some of my art that stays is part of something bigger or hidden by other art. intentionally.

and for my photos: they exist. some have seen them. maybe i use them for other projects. posting them would make them just part of something new. posting them not would just not create that.
the alt text should also be made like art.

also art is not tied to some creatures liking the art. or by someone who identifies itself as an artist. art is art when at least one creature sees it as art.

also everyone should do art. for themselves. doesn’t matter if its just for yourself. just do something creative in the way you like. create something, sing something or do something else. alone in your room, with friends, in public doesn’t matter.

@ellis i define art two ways, tbh. the “harder” definition being that art is something that was intentionally created to be created, so things like garbage don’t count, and which was created to communicate something; could be anything, such as “this is a tree.” however i don’t think that really reaches the core of what art is. the core being the more abstract thing you articulated here, that art is a feeling, and is created through people appreciating it as art, and dies when people no longer do. it’s circular but it’s also the best explanation i think possible
