was there an x86 Unix that shipped with CDE? i wanna design a shirt that has a bunch of Motif windows like xeyes and xmame but IRIX in MAME was unusably slow

@sterophonick i don’t really know what you’re talking about here. do you mean CDE like Common Desktop Environment? what was Common Desktop Environment like? what is Motif? why would you be using an arcade emulator to emulate a dead operating system? why are you using that dead operating system to design a shirt?

2) MAME is no longer just an arcade emulator, hasn't been for the last 11 years ever since it merged with MESS.
3) The shirt itself is having elements of the dead operating system. it is not being designed using the dead operating system.

sterophonick@wetdry.world@shroomie MESS was the sister project that focused on documenting hardware for non-coinop devices such as home consoles, computers, handhelds, calculators, and other digital miscellanea. the two projects merged in 2015 and so MAME is now this extremely large and ambitious generic electronics emulation and hardware documentation framework.

@sterophonick idk about UNIX® but it's possible to get CDE (or NsCDE) on Linux [see also: MaXX Interactive Desktop]
also Motif™ is cool it's my go-to GUI toolkit whenever i just need a GUI
