North Carolina Muscadine wine is made with indigenous grapes that were cultivated by colonists in the outer banks. The grapes are from the piedmont and outer banks, but were named after the Moscato wine grapes that they are apparently similar to. This wine is fucking delicious. North Carolina's small wineries are on par with french wineries in terms of quality and terroir.

the farms that have their own store and sell nowhere else, there's tons of them in NC and VA and OH, because of cottage production laws. So, You go to a farm where you see grapes, and you go to the area where they have bottles or jars of farm products, or you ask at the counter if you don't see it. The amish ones will also sell you illegal shit on the down low if they see you a lot and know what you want. Like straight up Yoder's Whiskey type shi.
