almost certainly not a real person

i'll accept most follow requests, and I'm probably a lot more scared of you than you are of me. let's be friends.

people who actively maintain their own blog are hot, bonus points if they do it on improvised server infrastructure, except if they're a cis dude

It feels very silly for activitypub clients to interpret "this user does not publish their follower/following counts" as "this user has 0 followers" but maybe that's just my ego being tested

Signal is currently the only reasonably efficient tool I have for sending files between my laptop and phone, and I have never run into any problems with it. One of these days I’m going to try sending myself a feature length film or something just to see how far I can push it

Sending files between devices is hard but less so when you realize that you can send a substantial amount of data over Signal before you get rate limited

Red Hat: Rebuilders contribute n̶o̶ ̶v̶a̶l̶u̶e̶ negative net value to RHEL. Contribute to CentOS Stream!

Rebuilder
@almalinux: okay we'll build off CentOS Stream. [Proceeds to submit patch to Fedora + Stream for a CVE against iperf3]

Red Hat: No, not like that!

@ExperimentV It sucks that people don't even really check if it's COVID anymore, you kinda just got to assume the worst all the time. It definitely doesn't help that tests have gotten substantially less accessible

I’m not 100% sure, since I’m no zoologist, but they look a lot like ghost ants, which is interesting for two reasons.

One, ghost ants aren’t believed to be native to North America, so they’re probably a vestige of colonialism

Two, ghost ants are tropical, and I live in Canada, meaning they’re also a vestige of global warming.

So, thanks to a combination of colonialism and global warming, every day I wake up and these motherfuckers are hanging out in swarms next to my sink and all I can do is fumigate my apartment with bleach and hope they’ll just go away

Usually I can scroll through leftist publications because they’re at least a little bit hopeful, or if they’re just saying shit they usually invite you to do something about it by the end, but god damn is the mainstream media fatalistic

I remember the other day I saw an article about how oil executives knew what they were doing when they chose do make no steps towards scaling back production. One of them was quoted, saying something to the effect of “we all know that the economy depends on continued use of fossil fuels. There’s no reality in which we can just stop now.”

and it’s like

the economy also depends on me and my friends being able to breathe, which is getting kind of hard these days

If they cared, they wouldn’t just write empty opinion pieces lamenting how everything’s falling apart. They’d ask follow up questions
