You know what’s interesting about this log line? It repeats 56,686,963 times in www.kernel.org logs for yesterday, across 4 nodes. That’s about 700 times a second, and this has been going on for months.
These requests aren’t intentionally malicious – they issue a simple GET /, receive their 301 redirect, and terminate the connection. From what I can tell, this is some kind of appliance or software installed on mobile clients that uses “can I reach www.kernel.org” as a network test.
This wouldn’t be that big of a deal – a single plaintext “GET /“ that triggers an immediate 301 is very cheap for us to generate, but the number of these requests has been steadily growing.

(#Win11 ist hässlich. Die neue Taskbar treibt mich in den Wahnsinn, und ich hab vielleicht 2h damit gearbeitet. 🤨)
Der #Passwordmanager hat das ganze schwer erleichtert, das gibt sogar der Vater zu.
Jetz muss ich ihn nur noch dazu bringen, nicht nur seine Accounts da reinzustecken, sondern auch unique und komplexe Passwörter zu vergeben. Seufz. Ich fürchte den Kampf gewinne ich erst wenn es zu spät ist. 😭

bluewitchMein eigenes Auto hab ich vor fast 3 Jahren verkauft. Aber nach nur 2 Fahrten von nur 12km sind die Schmerzen in rechten Fuß wieder da.
In 3 Jahren #Radfahren, 2 davon die exakt gleiche Strecke, war das nie ein Problem.
Ich finde es gut dass die Stadt carsharing anbietet.
Aber ich bin froh, wenn ich mein #Fahrrad am Montag aus der Werkstatt holen kann. 💙🚴
