I’m Josh, also known as Jodhus. Adequate husband, passable father, functional systems administrator.
Just moved to a new self-hosted instance so apologies for all the new follow requests.
Things that make me happy:
- I’m into #retrocomputing. I’m quite nostalgic for the #c64 and #amiga computers I owned as a child.
- My father and a mutual friend of ours introduced me to #linux and #openbsd in the mid to late 90’s and I’ve used them both ever since. They were instrumental in encouraging the concepts of #security and #privacy to me at an early age.
- My way of giving back to my friends/family/community is by #selfhosting and offering various services to them, including services that promote #federation.
- I like to tinker with #python and #rust programming, leading to questionable results.
- I will explode into fits of giggles for #nonsequitur, #absurdist, and #snarky humor. I am a big fan of #mst3k and #rifftrax.
- I love most genres of music, but I’m not a fan of pop and modern country.
- I used to have lots of fun with #nightphotography back when my camera was state-of-the-art, but have not had the chance in nearly two decades.
- The way to my heart is through #thaifood, #sushi, and most other Asian cuisine.

community guidelines
- you must be over 14 years old to join. coral castle's servers are hosted in chile, and under article 19,628 of the laws of chile, we are unauthorized to collect data from people under 14.
- do not spam or raid. the fediverse is not your space to intoxicate.
- nsfw/nsfl content must be marked as sensitive. coral castle is built to be used as a casual instance, and as such should be accessible anywhere.
- hate speech, paraphilia, and harassment will get you banned. having basic human decency is key anywhere. whether it is in real life or on the internet, don't be a jerk.
- keep things legal. this includes pirated content, since we want to keep a good relationship across fediverse servers. posting CSAM is strictly forbidden and will result in legal action.
moderation policies
the sanctions for local users will be relative to the gravity of their infringements, varying from simply deleting the offending material, to warning the user through a three-strike system, to immediately banning the offending user.
