welp funniest thing happened:
- i downloaded the entirety of adventure time in HEVC 10 bit
- realized that format wasn't being transcoded on jellyfin, my server CPU does not support transcoding it through QSV, and my computer struggles to play it natively
- realized jellyfin wasn't transcoding ANY formats in fact, and it was due to alpine not shipping a version of ffmpeg that can actually take advantage of QSV
- switched jellyfin install to docker
- now it's transcoding and somehow it can transcode HEVC 10 bit without using QSV

ok, here's an obstacle i'm still trying to figure out with my rclone+mpd setup: how do i get rclone to mount my volume when i log in and unmount it when i log out? also, how do i get it to keep retrying to mount even if its not connected to the internet?

ok it's nerding out time! so a bit ago i decided to use mopidy on my chromebook setup (which i'll call it "akane" from now on) since i couldn't take much advantage of mpd, considering my music is stored remotely and i use navidrome for my streaming solutions, with jellyfin as my fallback. akane ain't powerful, so using navidrome on a web browser was a pain in the ass.

however, i've quickly come to realize that mopidy-mpd is not complete, so clients such as my girlfriend's "mus" (which you can find at https://sr.ht/~sfr/mus/) can't queue songs because song searching is not implemented, which to me is a big ???

therefore, i'm about to try another solution: using mpd+rclone! i might also use mpdas for scrobbling, but first i want to test if this will work

  1. you must be over 14 years old to join. coral castle's servers are hosted in chile, and under article 19,628 of the laws of chile, we are unauthorized to collect data from people under 14.

moderation policies

the sanctions for local users will be relative to the gravity of their infringements, varying from simply deleting the offending material, to warning the user through a three-strike system, to immediately banning the offending user.
