for people like me who have missed the soap opera, the latest developments are like this:
- a guy said "people who say 'Hitler was right' anonymously, why don't you come say it to our faces."
- a second guy said "ok", and spewed some anti-semitic garbage about white replacement theory and how the Jews deserve anti-semitism. "you want the truth to your face, that's it."
- a third guy said "you said the actual truth."
the name of that third guy? Elon Musk.
I'm not exaggerating this, that was literally the context. I only saw people commenting on tweets #2 and #3 originally and it was bad enough, then I saw what had been #1's prompt. no joke, Elon Musk boosted with approval a rando literally defending Hitler.
as a result IBM has dropped Twitter advertising, the Twitter company has gone into damage control mode, Elon Musk is stealthily shadowbanning his critics (a practice he had attributed to woke censorship and claimed to have eliminated), and the White House (??) has condemned him

Don't go to Brave btw. It's a shit company that keeps doing shady stuff and is run by a homophobe. There are so many browsers, just pick one. (Whether other Chromium-based browsers will keep an interface for effective customization for users around is for you to research. Just use Firefox TBH).

moderation policies
the sanctions for local users will be relative to the gravity of their infringements, varying from simply deleting the offending material, to warning the user through a three-strike system, to immediately banning the offending user.
