My brother is doing some cursed shit and I love him for this, I am waiting for the day he's gonna learn KiCAD.
For context:
The left cable is a split cable (almost a mux). He split the USB-C cable into the power part (white cable) and the data part (black cable). He made this so he can power a Raspberry Pi 4B and also send data to my server. This is for a PyKVM setup (we're going to buy a USB capture card today).
For the right PCB: his Xbox 360 wireless adapter failed, so he had the big brain idea to steal the PCB responsible for the wireless controller in the console itself and transplant it onto a USB cable (since it communicates by USB anyway). It's cursed, yes, but it works flawlessly and I don't want to know why.
I can claim he's essentially a hacker in the true OG sense of the word. I'm proud of this boy. I can definitely combine my programming skills with his hardware skills and do something amazing.
He's also now manually modifying the Xbox 360 controller driver just because he can
