@SweetAmelia It's starting to sound more and more like I'm going to stop going to YouTube soon, which sucks for all the reactors and content creators that I enjoy watching.

@SweetAmelia Had I won the lottery, one of the things on my list was a creator-friendly (meaning, profitable) video site. But, no dice. Maybe next time.

Seriously, though, isn't there something that's video related and fedi-based like Mastodon? I thought I read something once, but I can't remember the name.

@SweetAmelia Ah, thank you. I figure that the more people want to move from the growing wickedness that is Google and YouTube, the more likely something viable will be available. My fingers are crossed.

@SweetAmelia I already abandoned Twitch so once YouTube gets bad I'll abandon them too. It's sad a lot of these companies don't understand that people can just stop using their services.

@SweetAmelia there are some but they're inadequate, the thing is people could just decide to leave and replace YouTube with nothing but I don't think they realise that.

@konomikitten thats true and as someone who doesnt really watch much video content i feel u - but as a creator i’m still interested in making videos and streams lol, and i still want to be able to find those few videos i do like, yaknow? people definitely go overboard with consuming youtube and similar content - even after all this years i still dont quite understand people using watching it as a hobby - but there is value to this type of platform existing.

@SweetAmelia I used to watch it a lot but the quality is so far down most days I open and just close YouTube now. I know it sucks for content creators but eh YouTube makes the rules.
