please welcome @julia@eepy.moe as the new lead of the sharkey project.
@deci @Sharkey@shonk.social Aurora will still be a thing eventually, but Sharkey will be my main focus for the foreseeable future.
Basically, Aurora going to be more of a pet project for now while I shift focus onto Sharkey.
The GitLab page has a button to donate money to support Sharkey development, but the link is no longer valid as of yesterday.
I’d like to contribute to Sharkey’s ongoing work (to help with costs for hosting the GitLab, for example.)
It’s been suggested that I should donate to kitsuclub for now. Does that sound like the best course of action? Is there a better way I can support Sharkey for the community?
@osric@terberlo.dog For the time being, the best option would be the Kitsuclub Ko-Fi. Kio's been helping us manage donations for the time being. In the future we will set up a proper Sharkey development page.
@sneexy@lea.pet @julia@eepy.moe @Sharkey@shonk.social i actually started implementing that
@atom@grimgreenfo.rest I am but that's gonna be more of a pet project now rather than my main focus
@ghost_desu @julia @Sharkey appointed by Hatsune Miku herself
@sneexy@lea.pet @julia@eepy.moe @Sharkey@shonk.social You know how on Mastodon, when you go to the "Media" tab when scrolling through a profile, it is in a grid layout?
Is it okay if Sharkey has the "Including Files" tab in a grid layout, too? /serious
@julia@eepy.moe @Sharkey@shonk.social @radmin@limepeeps.perchinup.top this sounds like it would be better to include in upstream misskey
@radmin@limepeeps.perchinup.top @sneexy@lea.pet @Sharkey@shonk.social I've considered working on that kind of thing but it gets a bit complicated when it comes to posts with multiple pieces of media and such. It also would inherit the issues the existing files widget has on peoples profiles, where it doesn't blur media that has a CW on the post its attached to, and similar
@julia @radmin @sneexy re: blur, additional complication: a single drive file can be used multiple times! It can be attached to more than one note, it can be used in a page, as banner, as background, as avatar… once we get around to #610 we should at least have a simpler way to ask “where is this file used?” and then we might be able to notice if it’s ever be used in a CW-ed note
(also, “this is a picture marked sensitive” and “this picture is attached to a note with a CW” are technically independent properties!)
@dakkar@s.thenautilus.net @radmin@limepeeps.perchinup.top @sneexy@lea.pet exactly, yeah, it's not an easy question to solve
@julia@eepy.moe @dakkar@s.thenautilus.net @sneexy@lea.pet Thank you two and the rest of the Sharkey team for helping to solve these issues, though. Even as challenging as implementing specific features like this is, the overall software is getting better than before
