They call it "River City Girls 2" and then the DLC is to add fucking Jimmy and Billy >.>
if you're going to do Double Dragon why not give us Rebecca or Linda or possessed Marian
huh if you put Japanese dubbing you also get Japanese text in the manga sections. nice!
the German subtitles smell to me like they were translated secondhand from the English version. not a big deal, there's a certain enjoyment in seeing how far the game of telephone goes (e.g. "sasuga otōsan" → "oh Mann, das war episch"
upon being told that the school has been taken by yakuza so there's no point in going to class, Kyoko's mom's only reaction is to say that the sequel to Vampire Puncher is out. I approve of this mom, also I wanna try Vampire Puncher
jealous of Kyoko for having a heavy punching bag on her balcony
upon being told they lost all their XP for sofa sitting and will need to study their moves again: "benkyōoo? gakkō nanka yattenai kara, benkyō sinakute iinjan" I already love Kyoko
Kaori in Japanese recommends you takoyaki, and in the German subtitles, fancy smoothies
@shroomie the point is that there are some 19 Kunio-kun games and this is the *one* spinoff that you can play as girls at all, and then when they give us more characters they give us male characters.
For the double dragons was already IV and the Gaiden and a brand new one is about to come out, the last time I could play as Rebecca was in 1995 and the last time I could play as Linda or Cleopatra was never
you can beat up cops in this game. I repeat, you can beat cops in this game
the first cop I beat begged me for mercy (at which point you can recruit enemies as assists). I beat him up more instead and my bubbly schoolgirl said "ich schmecke Blut". I approve of this game
you can tell at a glance that Kyoko is the boke and Misako is the tsukkomi, so it was inevitable that I would bond with Kyoko
kinda annoyed that even if you pick Japanese voices the prices are in '$', and the songs only have English versions. (even in the Japan release.) though I have to admit that "I think I'm better than you" is both catchy and dear to my heart
@shroomie I don't think you understand it.
What do I care / About your problems?
Everything should go my way
Matter of fact / I just might be
God's gift to River City
I think I'm better than you (I'm better than you)
Why do I suffer these fools? (I'm suffering fools)
Don't you say that it's not true (I'm better than you)
wow they got Jayden doing Miho in the English dub
wish Kyoko and Misako did long skirts, or at least it was an option
Kyoko has a tackle where she *dabs* and it has rainbow effects and throws enemies very far away for crowd control, and it's so satisfying to do
@shroomie I like it
* skip school
* go out
* beat up a ton of people
* get their money
* use it to buy candy
how would I not love this game
did I mention you can beat up cops in this game
"oretati wa korosareru tte ittenyo"
"onee nara ii ya."
yuri? in my River City Girls?
Kyoko's facial expression when she's stomping a cop xD
Marian canonically dating both Billy and Jimmy is more explicit in the English (complete with eyebrow raising for accent) than the Japanese
Marian is very satisfactory to play as a muscle brute whomst girl, but I miss Kyoko's glee mostly because the story mode expects Kyoko to be there for the plot
I get it!! 😮👉 I understood that reference
gotta say playing as Marian feels vaguely uncomfortable when she's an adult and so many opponents are schoolgirl delinquents
