@orangelantern @yassie_j it’s so mind mindbogglingly stupid! it would be somewhat understandable if fascist lite polices actually won them elections, but they go with the same failed strategies over and over again and lose support each time. at this point it’s obvious to me that centrist parties in both europe and north america find it more important to appease their wealthy supporters than to actually win elections

@orangelantern @yassie_j in general, i think they’re afraid of upsetting the wealthy who are the only people they actually talk to so this leads to massive groupthink. at least in the US case a lot of policy/strategy is driven by highly paid political consultants who get paid and hired whether they win or lose. there are many who oppose the groupthink, but they’re systematically sidelined
