Putting out a bounty on the person who implemented this infuriating lift display.

Bring them to me dead or alive - I just want their laptop with the source code so I can fix it

@jonty but they probably saved 16x12 bits of memory!

@jonty Of all the things you could get actually infuriated by, the numbering scheme on a lift display seems pretty insignificant.

@jonty but it's logical, the lowest numbered floor disappears at tbe bottom!

But it's infuriating yes, I agree.

@jonty Product manager: *sniffs* *rubs coke from nostril* Lol, lets make the numbers sliiiiide

Firmware programmer: Uh ok, maybe we can do that, I guess.

Firmware programmer, later, at his desk: I guess I can make a sprite with the new number and the old number together and then shift that into the display. While also having the stupid animated arrow from last meeting. Fuck it, I hate that guy and my pay is crap, I'll just do this instead...

@jonty Not enough memory for two numbers at once... you want them to abandon the arrows or something??

@glitzersachen @jonty yes. so fire the animation after updating the number.
