Huh, apparently DID is estimated to be at around 1.1-1.5% of the general population. That's a bit lower than half of what the CDC estimates is the rate of autism in eight year olds (3.5%) and two to three times what most institutions estimate is the percentage of people worldwide who identify as trans (0.6%). Interesting!

@AppleAmps Yup! DID is a lot more common than most seem to think. OSDD/DID are “rare” but rare in the sense that a lot of folks have it & it’s a statistical thing. The same amount of redheads on earth is the amount of folks with DID, according to the stats in your post at least. Could potentially be higher because demonized mental illnesses that are way more common among the marginalized don’t get diagnosed at adequate enough levels, but yeah! It is definitely interesting!
