If you read feminist theory and come out of it going “I hate men”, you’re legitimately a moron who can’t read and your takes are irrelevant dogshit.
Like this is so incredibly missing the point that I’d almost find it funny were it not so insufferable. “Patriarchy bad” does not equal “men bad” and if you think it does then like don’t you have some algebra homework to do because clearly you’re like 13.
@shio i'd say this is unnecessarily harsh, but... no, it's necessarily harsh. anyone who'd fumble the takeaway that badly desperately needs the wake-up call
Even Andrea Dworkin didn't hate all men. I know because I read a few of her books. People who say she hated all men simply cherry-picked sentences from her books and then quoted them out of context.
@shroomie I don’t respect anyone who hates men personally, so imo they don’t matter and should maybe not blame an entire gender for their problems. Just because the patriarchy was created by and for men does not mean men are inherently evil or horrible. It’s more likely due to the patriarchy that a man will end up using it to his advantage a the detriment of women, but it’s not a guarantee and also I struggle to see how a world where men are vilified and treated as lesser is any better than the current system
