I would love to trust something this much, but also we shouldn't have to if the reason is "my workplace thinks me being an employee is more important than being a parent".

I wonder if they can be considered child neglect or endangerment? ... It's certainly a terms of service violation.

this reminds me of that one post where the kid says "I think God should kill you" to his dad

@Paradox @anemone The need for commercial daycare is kind of messed up when one bothers to think about it at all.

I mean I don't know if I mind it as much in the context of the parents pursuing careers by choice, but then it's not daycare, it's an au pair.

Even then it'd be kinda sad if you couldn't balance work and family effectively to not need one except on occasion.

@Paradox With workism not being a thing, a career wouldn't necessarily be a thing that expends one's whole day in exclusivity.

On the other hand, would the concept of a career still exist then?

Well two things that would do it are workaholism/overpassion and things like business trips.
If we discount having a boss that overworks you.

I'm thinking about the ideal scenario where daycare isn't needed because both parents need a job to be financially stable, but rather they chose to have kids without giving up their careers.
