japanese writing system is so funny like imagine if you wrote most stuff in english in the latin script, roots and more Pompous stuff in greek and for some very specific occasions you switched to the cyrillic script
@halva cyrillic would be cool for mathematics papers. Д Ж Ю are so evocative. i should use them for components of a grammar
@halva the capital sigma for the token ("symbol") alphabet is always confusing to me because there are also stack symbols (and in my theory, stack symbols can be generated from the input productions as the result of a graph transformation, and these bookkeeping symbols are meaningfully distinct from the ones the user provides in the input grammar). Ж is great for forking parameterized results and Ю would work great for the stack cycle identification which closes off loops from the rest of the graph
@halva japanese being syllabic also means everything is a pun which is very fun if you like puns
@halva i mean we think of the latin alphabet as this single monolithic thing, but imagine having to explain to someone who's never seen it before what capital and lowercase letters are (and are FOR), what italics are (and why h is not b in italics), how we don't have kanji but we actually do have special characters like "&" that everybody ends up using and understanding ...
... oh wait and cursive
