…are you telling me audacity has no way to change the tempo without stretching audio? did they seriously not think of this?

supposedly fixed in audacity 4, but those changes won’t be backported to audacity 3, and audacity 4 isn’t set to release for many months yet
i seemed to have been correct about these guys not managing things very well

@aqua it... does? Change Tempo is time-domain, Sliding Stretch is frequency-domain, and Change Speed and Pitch is resampling

@nyanpasu64 the terminology is confusing, but i’m talking about the tempo in the project itself. i don’t want to modify any of the clips, i simply want to change the tempo so that it’s accurate to that of the source audio.

@nyanpasu64 audacity 4 solves this to an extent, because you can change the project tempo and then change the time-stretching of the clip back to 100% and it’s like nothing ever happened, but that’s tedious and this is really a half-solution
