I fucking hate the musical wicked and everything I have heard about the movie makes me hate it even more so.
They fucking plundered the book, which is a piece of art. They stripped it of complexity, forced a romantic relationship between Elphaba and Glinda, and completely disregards the point of the book.
Elphaba and Glinda are not besties, and certainly not lovers, in the book. Their relationship is much more complex than that, and that complexity is integral to the plot.
