I've been playing Rayman 2 again now that it's on Switch and like. idk I really feel like it's a top tier N64 game, like one of the very best N64 games, but I never hear it talked about as one
it looks great, and plays great, it's got really great character animations and nice use of vertex colors and lighting... personally I liked it even better than banjo kazooie, which does a lot of the same stuff visually, but I've fallen off of that game twice now and still haven't finished it, whereas Rayman 2 I'm having fun playing through for a second time now lol
is it just cause it's multiplatform? do people just not think of it as an N64 game? even though it's not exclusive I still think it's one of the best games I've ever played on the console though
@fluttergirly It sorta falls into an awkward hole of notability, doesn't it? It's not first or second party Nintendo, but it's not an 'obscure' wonky & forgotten B game either. It's very good at what it does, but didn't really lead anywhere so it doesn't get brought up in historical recounts. It's just kind of there.
Also the fools in charge of Ubisoft spent the last 20 years bungling everything, so the fanbase isn't expecting much. That probably doesn't help.
@thepi yea it's just for me like, just comparing it among other nintendo 64 games its like, damn, this is one of the best ones I've ever played ehehe
