@anubis2814 My point is that they’re written with her ideals in mind, which is why there’s characters being made fun of for criticizing slavery and why Harry becomes a glorified wizard cop and the status quo continues to exist without issue. Not to mention the numerous stereotypes of minorities including some extremely offensive names.

They aren’t great books to read even if she’s dead and no longer makes money off them. She’s always been horrible, it just only became apparent due to recent public behavior.

And my console I let the roommies play on has a rule - Install Hogwarts or any other Harry Potter - they get banned from using my console. If they ever want to play it, they'll need to get thier own PlayStation.

@shio I don’t like harry potter, but I also don’t like the implication that all works made by an asshole author are automatically devoid of merit. Did Neil Gaiman sexually assault some people? Yeah, but sandman is still good. I’ll refrain from monetarily supporting him, but he’s still good at writing.

@cwg1231 Yeah that’s not my point my point is that even before we knew she was an asshole her works weren’t that good and were full of offensive stereotypes and literal slavery that was defended by the protagonist. I’m saying people clinging to it have no excuse because not only is she a horrible person but she also isn’t a good writer to begin with.
