oh, so the folks who made that movie also mapped out how the different states split

the "new people's army" covering the PNW and minnesota, but also more rural states like wyoming, montana and both dakotas, sounds to me like they'd be having a civil war all of their own

the "florida alliance" makes more sense, i guess, this is just deep south 2.0, right?

but any setting that implies california and texas being on the same side basically requires such a significant shift in politics that most actual real-life political divides would become irrelevant, really

@rnd i always interpreted that as being intentionally incompatible with the current red/blue lines, the point being to make it difficult for the viewer to interpret one side as corresponding to their own ideology and therefore "the good guys", thus forcing them to take the movie's themes on its own terms, apart from the current cultural climate
